SOLAR ENERGY

The benefits of Solar Energy

Solar energy is an environmentally friendly renewable energy source that can offer immense benefits to undeveloped countries. Our work focuses on installing tailor-made solar energy systems to bring sustainable clean energy to people without access to any form of electricity. We offer off-grid Stand-Alone Power Systems (SPS) that power classrooms in rural African communities as well as domestic installations for homes  that are build away from the national electricity grid. Each day, the sun shines on the solar panels we install powering rural homes and schools while at the same time charging the batteries that are separately stored. During the night, our systems draw electricity from the battery storage so the communities can enjoy clean, sustainable energy 24/7.

Energy deficiency in Africa

The true potential of millions of Africans is still being stunted by the lack of access to reliable and affordable energy sources.

  • 1 billion people are living without electricity and 50% of them are found in Sub-Saharan Africa.

  • More than 640 million people, two-thirds (2/3) of the continent’s population do not have access to electricity.

  • The African Development Bank (ADB) states that energy poverty cripples the continent's economy creating a matter of national security.

Access to clean and sustainable energy improves lives in rural Africa. People with access to sustainable energy are able to work longer, local hospitals are able to care for patients during late afternoon and night and lighted schools can educate the children that work in the field in the morning during the afternoon.
